The Start
Summit Capital commenced business in 2013 with its founding shareholders and directors; John Mallon and Josh Parbhu.
Josh returned from a long period overseas to team up with his old friend John to create Summit Capital. The intention was to establish a long term multi-generational finance and investment business that would stand the test of time and utilise the skills and expertise of its principals.
The retreat of many capital and finance providers from the NZ finance sector post-GFC created a market opportunity that Summit Capital has responded to.
We continue to grow and are committed to supporting New Zealand businesses, property investors and developers with their finance and capital needs.
Our Team
John Mallon - Director
John has been entrenched in the New Zealand finance sector for over 27 years. He has managed large property and finance businesses and been a lender in the field. He currently consults to an offshore investment bank on its financing and investment activities in New Zealand, including deal origination and negotiation, due diligence and execution, and ongoing client management. John also provides strategic and financial advice to a range of businesses and is a non-executive director of a camper van rental business and assists a number of community groups.
Josh Parbhu - Director
Josh is a seasoned lawyer with extensive experience as a partner of a leading US law firm in London and South Africa. Josh specialised in providing advice on structured finance and securitisation transactions across the UK, European and African markets and was lead legal advisor on many large innovative financing transactions.
Malia Brock - Senior Associate
Malia joined the Summit Capital team in 2019 following a period of managing a small business in Wellington. Malia is from Hawaii, and a graduate from Western Washington University, majoring in business management and marketing. Malia liaises with Summit Capital's clients on loan execution and management. Malia is based in Summit Capital's Wellington office.
